Mulberry paper is accordion pleated in the fold-dying technique used to decorate this whimsical, kaleidoscopic patterned paper. Sekkazome means literally "snow flower or snow flake dyeing" in Japanese, as the resulting pattern resembles snowflakes.The paper is specially folded and then dip-dyed using finger pressure to control the dye absorbtion to create the designs. Traditionally this method was used to dye fabric but has been adapted for paper.Machine made and hand decorated in Thailand. 2 deckled edges with a 35 gsm weight.
